Cleveland Botanical Garden's Orchid Mania: This Side of Paradise

Orchid Mania: This Side of Paradise February 11 – March 25 Adults: $9.50 Kids (3-12): $3.00 Members and Kids 2 and Under: FREE Sophisticated ladies. Speakeasies. Busby Berkeley musicals. The 1920s was a time when America’s preoccupation with opulence, luxury and sensuality was equal to its limitless spirit of optimism and individual expression. Sound like a certain exuberant flower you know? Orchid Mania: This Side of Paradise will be a roaring exhibit celebrating those alluring flappers of the floral world, orchids. This year, Orchid Mania, now in its 8th year, brings forth a staggering diversity of colors, patterns, shapes and sizes of Orchidacea -- all in an art deco-inspired setting befitting of Jay Gatsby himself. Hundreds of bold, fragrant, blooming orchids will be on display throughout the Garden’s main floor from the thoroughly modern trappings of the lobby to the exotic Costa Rican rainforest in the Eleanor Armstrong Smith Glasshouse. It’s an event that’s sure to be the hit of the (counter)cultural season in a setting fit for both flappers and Phalaenopsis.
